Introduction

Our Children & Youth ministry started around 1986.

Today there is Chinese Class in the morning, and then Bible Class & Youth Group meeting in the afternoon.

School Term: From October to June

Time: Every Sunday from 11:00 to 14:45*, with lunch break from 12:45 to 13:15

Chinese Class

Chinese Class

Purpose: To promote Chinese language and culture for young people with love according to the Bible.

Aims:
To bridge the communication gap between the generations
To learn Chinese language and culture in a loving & caring environment
To achieve national recognised qualification

Description:
Cantonese class is for aged 5-19 from class 1 to A level with 4 Mandarin class. There are about 160 students and 35 teachers, of which all are volunteers.

On average 15 of our students take GCSE & A level exam each year.

Bible Class

Bible Class

Purpose: To introduce God is love through the Bible

Aims:
To teach stories from the Bible that is relevant to us all
To create a loving environment to reflect God’s loving nature

Description:
There are about 120 children from aged 5 to aged 12 with about 20 teachers.

Each class is following 2 yearly syllabus learning about Bible stories, moral teachings, God’s salvation in a classroom format.

Youth Group

Youth Group

Purpose: To build relationship with God and each other through witnesses, activities and Biblical teaching

Aims:
To develop healthy & caring social network amongst the young people
To promote loving and caring environment, so that they too can become a loving and caring individual

Description:
Youth Group is for aged 13 to 19 young people. There are about 60 young people and 10 youth leaders

Meeting are activities based – young people learn & discuss social issues from a Christian view point based on the Bible.

Parent Group

Parent Group

Purpose: To get together to discuss and support each other on family issues with Christian view point that are relevant to them

Aims:
To provide support to both children and parents
To organise different activities; such as child-parent relationship, children studying Chinese language skill and discussion on parental support issues, dance class for parents, discussion on various issues etc.

Description:
Meeting in the morning during Chinese Class lesson.
